The holidays are a festive and often hectic time – filled with shopping trips, family gatherings, work parties and planning for the upcoming year. But it is also a time to count one’s blessings and reach out to those in need.
The WebDAM team is continuing its tradition of giving back during the holiday season, building on years of contributing to the Silicon Valley Community. In the past, WebDAM has contributed donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and participated in Bike 4 Breath events, a nonprofit dedicated to reducing lung disease through advocacy.
This season has brought some of the coldest weather to the Bay Area in recent years, and for most of us, it’s easy to ward off the chill with a warm home and proper winter clothing.
But for many of the Bay Area’s most vulnerable citizens – the area’s homeless population – the cold snap has been dangerous, and in some cases, even deadly. For the approximately 6,500 homeless people in the Bay Area without adequate shelter or warm clothing, the plummeting temperatures can be extremely dangerous to be exposed to.
That is why WebDAM is spending the next week collecting much-needed warm jackets and supplies for the San Francisco VA Medical, which will be distributing coats and other essential items to those who need them most.
The VA is collecting everything from warm clothing to travel sized toiletries like shampoo and toothpaste. For more information visit the VA Voluntary Service website.
The WebDAM team is excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue its tradition of giving back with this DAM Good Deed.
Wishing everyone a happy and warm holiday season, from the WebDAM family to yours.
