What are the three most important words in DAM (forgive the cliché)? Consistency, consistency, and CONSISTENCY! WebDAM’s upcoming new features are going to help you take your DAM to the next level with powerful tools designed to increase consistency in an efficient way!
Register for a live webinar to get a sneak-peak at the new features in WebDAM right before they’re rolled out to you! Get a head-start optimizing your DAM for browsing and searching for assets by seeing these newest features in action. The webinar will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 10:00am – 10:30am PT and hosted by one of our customer success managers, Leigh Ann Ledford. It is free to attend, but space is limited.
Building on one of our most popular features, controlled vocabulary, we are excited to add hierarchical support and an easy-to-use taxonomy builder! A great deal of WebDAM users rely on consistent keywording from implementing a controlled vocabulary to keep data consistent and assets findable. Now, this feature has been even further developed to include hierarchies. With these enhancements your keyword list can include defined categories that keywords can be grouped by. Use the new taxonomy builder to create, organize, and group your keywords right in WebDAM! We’ve enriched this design to include drag and drop functionality paired with quick inline editing to streamline workflows.
Perhaps your team has distinct brands, each with their own products; take for instance the Dodge car brand. The make is Dodge with models Durango, Charger, and Journey. Previously, you would have added both the make “Dodge” and the model “Charger” as separate keyword entries. When assigning keywords to assets using the original controlled vocabulary, you would place a checkmark next to “Charger” and then scroll down to place another checkmark next to “Dodge”. This is effective as long as the person adding the keywords remembers to add both the make AND the model, which can be easily missed and creates extra steps for each asset. While using the new taxonomy builder, simply place all of the appropriate models under the make “Dodge”. Once you do that, anytime the keyword “Charger” is added, the make “Dodge” is automatically added as well! Saving you time and increasing consistency!
For those that are actively using the controlled vocabulary in WebDAM, it’s a snap to create a hierarchical list from your existing list. Simply right-click when you would like to add a category and then drag and drop your existing keywords into the appropriate category.
